Osa ihmisistä kävelee puiston keskellä olevaa hiekkapohjaista kävelytietä pitkin, ja osa istuu sen varsilla olevilla penkeillä. Kävelytietä reunustavat korkeat ulkovalaisimet. Ihmisillä on yllään kesävaatteet, ja muutamalla on lisäksi päässään kesähattu. Taaempana keskellä kohoaa runoilija Johan Ludvig Runebergin patsas. Muistomerkin on tehnyt hänen poikansa, kuvanveistäjä Walter Runeberg. Muistomerkki on valmistunut vuonna 1885.
