Käpylän peruskoulun ruotsinkielistä opetusta antava, sisäilmaongelmista kärsinyt koulurakennus purettiin kesällä 2022. Asemakaavamuutoksen myötä mahdollistuneen suuremman, 500 oppilaalle tarkoitetun uudisrakennuksen odotetaan valmistuvan vanhan rakennuksen paikalle kesällä 2024. Rakennustyömaan takana oleva, koulutontin ja asuinkorttelin 25888 välinen mäntymetsämäinen puistoalue säilytetään. Vasemmalla takana yksi korttelissa 25888 sijaitsevista Hekan asuinkerrostaloista, Pohjolankatu 47.
